Eligibility Criteria & 2009 Nomination Forms
Australian Blues Music 'Chain' Awards
Award nominations shall be deemed eligible providing the following criteria has been met. a) The artist/s have been permanent residents of Australia for at least two years at the time of nomination and that they have also lived in Australia for at least five years since age 16; or b) The album has been totally recorded, mixed and mastered in Australia; and c) The album was commercially released between 1 November 2007 and 31 October 2008; and d) Both product and completed nomination forms have been delivered to the official body by no later than 28 November 2008. Releases being nominated for Album of the Year must have a playing time of no less than 35 minutes, contain no less than six songs and at least 40% of the tracks must be first released during the current awards year. Original material only shall be deemed eligible for Song of the Year nominations. Other releases that meet the specified release criteria but not the minimum playing time criteria may not be nominated for Album of the Year but may be eligible for other award nominations. Nominations must be submitted on the official nomination form (click 'Download File' below for forms). They must be post-marked no later than 28 November 2008 or be hand delivered to Sarah Dawson at the Goulburn Visitor Information Centre by close of business (5pm) on Friday 28 November 2008. No verbal, faxed or emailed nominations will be accepted. Those making the nomination will be deemed responsible for the provision of product to the official body. Product is determined as a copy of the released album or single. Nominees must provide eight (8) copies to be used for judging purposes. It should be noted that these will not be returned. The official body shall at all times determine nomination eligibility. In the event of a tie between one or more finalists in any category, the winner will be selected by determining which nominee has the highest votes making up their score. Finalists in each category will be released in late January. Winners will be announced at the official Awards function, held on the official opening night of the Australian Blues Music Festival in Goulburn, NSW on Thursday 12 February 2009. Note:
If a track is nominated in more than one category, only one batch of eight (8) copies of the original release containing the nominated track need be supplied. All correspondence, including completed nominations should be directed to:
