Blues Hall of Fame (sculpture garden)Have you seen the forlorn looking harmonica player sitting on the bench out the front of the Visitor Information Centre? He's the latest of five sculptural installations for the Australian Blues Music Festival's Blues Hall of Fame. Ma Baby Gone 'n Left Meis the title of this primarily stainless steel piece by local artist Bill Dorman. Bill says, "I don't know if this person is coming or going, happy or sad. All I know is that everyone carries their own baggage... and some sing about it." At the selection of this work Goulburn Mulwaree Councillor Ken Sullivan declared "This is a wonderful addition to the Blues Hall of Fame. Not only does it capture the essence of what the Blues is about but it reflects Goulburn 's connection with travel - waiting for the train or bus and the growing importance of tourism and the travelling public to the region." Be sure to come down to the Visitor Information Centre to pass the time of day with this newcomer and check out the other sculptures honouring some of Australia's greatest blues musicians.Ma Baby Gone n Left Me will recognise an Australian Blues Harp Player - to be announced mid-2005.
