Busking the Blues Competition 2005 Winner

After almost 24 hours running around town trying to catch all of the busking acts, our judge (the Festival Ambassador Lloyd Spiegel) finally picked a winner at the final of the annual 'Busking the Blues' Competition in Belmore Park on Saturday - 16 year old
Bodie Jarman
from Wollongong.

From a line-up of about 15 buskers, Lloyd had the unenviable task of selecting only five acts for the final who along with Bodie included Peter Murphy, Jeff St James, the Jim Stubbs Backing Band and young guns Too Fat to Handle.

While the competition was tough, Lloyd chose Bodie saying "this guy can really play guitar". Our Ambassador was also impressed by the fact that Bodie played all original songs.

Bodie earned himself a day of recording at Si-Fonic studios and a paid gig at next year's Australian Blues Music Festival.

Bodie was great but definitely had some tough competition. All of the other acts received a great response from the crowd and their enthusiasm for blues music was evident to everyone watching.
