Allez-Gator (ACT)Where blues and roots music meets the swamp, that's where you'll find the Allez-Gators. Hot Louisiana music from Cajun to Zydeco, from boogie to swing played by an 8 piece band with twin fiddles, accordion, steel guitar, percussion and lots more. The Cajuns were Frenchmen who were evicted by the British from Acadia (now Canada) in 1755. They headed south and many eventually settled in the Lousiana swampland. Their music has very old French roots, but was later influenced by American country and blues music as well as the music of migrants. It was originally played at house dance parties. Zydeco is a later form from the same musical roots, but heavily influenced by and mixed with blues, R&B, rock and soul music. Bring your friends and 'laissez les bon temps roulez' - let the good times roll!
